Erorr message when trying to connet to excel

Hi Folks,

I`ve finally had a go at connecting B.A to excel but don`t seem able to do it? I click excel tab, click browse put in the B.A. template but when i click on open workbook i get this error message. Unable to open excel-retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {00024500-0000-c000-000000000046} failed due to following error 80040154.This also comes up when i try to import workbook that i`ve downloaded.Am i doing something silly(as normal) or is there a problem with my computer? Any help with this would be much apprciated. thanks greg

thanks for reply thats a great help,just one other question do i need to buy the lastest excel, or can i get away with an earlier version?

I would say you can get away with an earlier version provided it runs under your current OS I am sure Bet Angel will work with it.

Hi,
New to Bartender. I am trying to connect to an excel spread sheet as a database field and keep getting the unknown error message #6670. Failed to connect to database unknown error 0x800A0BB9. Any ideas???????
