Well, if I'm not mistaken, on Wagerr in due course users will be able to bet against each other. Their website says: "The blockchain mediates bets between two players taking opposite sides on upcoming sporting events. The fee for an executed contract is 2% of the payout."
With regards to creating their own currency, don't call it currency, call it tokens. It's similar to what you do in a casino, where you exchange cash for tokens (chips), bet with them, then convert them to cash.
