BF trading from the US

can anyone fill me in on the situation re Betfair trading from the US (for a UK citizen and account holder)?

i'm sure it's been discussed before but i couldn't find anything on a search.

thanks in advance.

edit: also, how long can you stay in the US without a work visa or whatever?

I believe placing an online bet is an arrestable offence over there, under the Interstate Wire Act of 1961. See http://sportsgambling.about.com/od/spor ... tlegal.htm

You can't anyway as Betfair have blocked all American IP's. So when you try and log into the site it gives you a restricted territory notice.

What does that (using a VPS) mean for an Australian resident who wants to trade in play?

You would need to be resident in the UK to do that. If you are an Aussie resident the same restriction will still apply.
