MUSSELBURGH will inspect at 7am on the morning of its Friday meeting, though officials are confident that racing will take place if the forecast iscorrect.

Newcastle - 27/11/10

HEAVY snow overnight has left Newcastle's Fighting Fifth meeting on Saturday in serious jeopardy with an inspection scheduled for 8am on Friday.

Towcester - 27/11/10

TOWCESTER'S meeting on Saturday looks to be in doubt after temperatures plummeted at the track resulting in a 7am inspection being called for Friday morning.

Not suprised looking at the last picture here of the track:

NEWCASTLE confirms Saturday's card, which was to have featured the Grade 1 Fighting Fifth, has been abandoned.

The course was hit with five inches of snow on Wednesday night and a bleak outlook was forecast.

Looks shocking as Towcester say they are very unlikely to race so will be left with:

Newbury 12.25 - 3.40
Kempton 2.10 - 5.20
Wolvs 5.50 - 9.20

So only a short period mid-afternoon where we actually have 2 meetings on at the same time

Musselburgh passes inspection and racing goes ahead today. Cold here near Newbury but no snow, sun is up and burning off the frost already.

Newbury/Newcastle 27/11/10

THE Stanjames.com Fighting Fifth Hurdle has been moved to Newbury on Saturday to form a blockbuster card alongside the Hennessy Gold Cup.

Originally due to be held at Newcastle until snow and cold weather forced the abandonment of that card, the Fighting Fifth will now be the second race on the Newbury card with a start time of 12.25.
