So Labour's position seems to be to increase spending and decrease taxes...

If those jokers get into power at the next election, it will be 'next stop Athens' for the UK economy...

Decreasing consumption taxes is pointless as it will just boost imports for a net importing nation. Will help China though!

last month Labour seemingly changed course and agreed about the necessity for cuts to control the deficit - it didn't take long for them to return to form.

they used to be known as the tax & spend party but in recent history they are the borrow & spend party (which is even more economically brain dead).

God help us if Ed Balls ever becomes chancellor - the £ would collapse (even more) and we'd be calling in the IMF (like the last time Labour was in power during tough times).

we should support Scottish independence - it would remove the Scots from parliament and make it much less likely that we'd ever have to suffer socialists in charge again (or the socialist thinking that seems ingrained in most political Scots).

After they've finished howling on the floor with laughter at our request, the IMF would tell us that, having already bailed out most of Southern Europe, they were even more broke than us!
