At the innings break. England 311/8

Backed England after the early wicket fell and traded out soon after. Bit of a roller coaster when big wickets fell later.

No real idea now if the odds are right for SA to chase this score

I feel SA can go well below evens here if they don't lose early wickets, but definitely not a road to bat on.

Its really astonishing the amounts involved in Cricket even after pulling out of India.

I'm sure we'll see plenty of +£100m markets this WC, I'm just wondering how high it will go, I'd have thought £150m was a very real possibility if the right teams meet?

In Euros £90 million in £s.........for a game that turned into a procession a very tidy sum, one of these games will break records even before we get to the final.

Always been a bit perplexed at why it was cricket that has taken off but not on other sports. Really odd?

West Indies v Pakistan

West Indies won the toss and chose to field
Overcast and warm in Nottingham
Big scores usually on that ground

West Indies 1.90
Pakistan 2.10

Over winter I've been working on trying to understand fair odds on Cricket so looking forward to working through the World Cup and seeing what I learn.

Yes I think understanding fair odds, and perhaps finding value out of that, is what its all about.

Its going to be a different story trading order flow due to the effect of hitting a six or taking a wicket can have

That's really what I am trying to answer. What is the impact at any point in the match given a certain score. I've got a ton of data and some rough models but need to put it into practice to see the reality of it.

My limited knowledge of limited overs cricket tells me Windies have probably won this. ;)
