I see on The listing on RPGTV some of the greyhounds have (M) next to their name, and some have (W). What do these mean?

Thanks for the answer, but then my next question is; What is 'The Draw' .. and why would trap 1 be the W=wide?

Got it here:

https://www.onlinesportsbettingsites.co.uk/greyhounds/

Racing Lines – In the formlines for previous races you will see comments on which line the dog took. You will see these as abbreviations, vw = very wide, w = wide, mid-w = middle to wide, mid = middle, mid-rls = middle to rails, rls-mid = rails to middle and rls = rails.

Thanks again for your reply.

Dont believe it is the draw, its an indication of the tendency of the dog i.e middle/wide runner ect. Wide runners will be drawn wider as to make the race as fair as possible

I always thought it was just a draw for the traps. If wide dogs are put in 5 & 6 and railers in 1 & 2, it's not a draw it's deliberate allocation?
I don't know for certain but that's always been my assumption. So what would happen if 6 wide runners qualified for the final of a cup?

They place wide runners in higher traps as to try and not cause as much crowding at the first bend. Putting a railer in trap 6 and wide runner in trap 1 obviosuly increaseas the chances of trouble at the first bend (although plenty of it still happens). Never seen 6 wide runners in one race but im sure the track would need to answer a few questions if wide runners kept winning

They were talking about this on RPGTV the other night

Question: I use HorseRaceBase ... for my horse trades obviously.(which are becoming fewer and far between nowadays). Is there something like that for Greyhounds?
