It's not in the UCI's interest for Froome to get busted. He's just such a vital ambassador to the sport. It'd cause an almighty backlash, & key sponsors won't want to be associated with "cheats". & if pro-cycling loses those vital sponsorships, there won't be any pro-races!

Only just seen the highlight, bizarre set of events.
Been a great race this year with it been so wide open
Robbed by who? They had no option but to cancel the stage.
Yes he is a good at descending and was making some of the time back on the last decent of the day but they still had the final climb to do which he is most likely to have lost a lot more time on. If anything he was done a massive favour as it stopped Bernal and to a lesser extent Thomas put more time into him during the final climb. Bernal had help for the final climb with Yates who was looking for the stage win and Bernal is the best climber on the tour so the time taken could have been considerably more than what it ended up being. Add in the bonus seconds that Bernal would have taken as well for finishing first or second and it favoured Alaphilippe even more it being stopped.
Had it been known earlier that the second last climb of the day would actually be the final climb he is likely to have been punished even more as the riders would have gone much harder and earlier in their attacks which he was unable to keep with.
Add in the harsh treatment yesterday with the two riders being banned which massively helped Alaphilippe and you would be hard pressed not to actually say the events of the last two days have been to help him not rob him.
If he manages third on the podium he should think himself massively lucky this year as without today's abandonment he would have stood no chance of being on the podium.
Also for anyone interested Geraint Thomas and Luke Rowe (before he got sent home) started their own podcast at the start of the Tour, it is called 'Watts Occurring'.
Hopefully they will continue it after the Tour for future races, they don't hold back with their opinions. To quote Geriant, its bollox Luke got sent home
