Perhaps it's like the Itchen Bridge - that was supposed to have it's tolls removed once it had paid for itself. Unfortunately, Southampton City Council had come to rely on the revenues by then and kept the charges in place!
Just use northam bridge. since they stuck those stupid pay machines in, I stopped using it. They dont give change either. Bastards.
Come back from town one night and it wouldn't accept 1p or 2p coins. So they ran out of the little office 4 in the morning. Wondered why i was parked there.

It's going to be really hard to dissect Betfair results now and the performance of the exchange. The recent rise in share price is linked to Paddy's performance and the arb opportunity on the merger terms so not a direct reflection on Betfair. It's going to be harder to read overall now unfortunately.

Can you guys give a newbie your thoughts on wether its worth starting a trading career? Is the exchange going to be thinning out? Will it eventually be full of traders money, fighting each other? Basically, is it the beginning of the end.

People thought when Crown bought out Betfair Australia that it would be the end, but I felt like the liquidity actually improved. And don't worry, as long as the corporates keep limiting punters and opening a 115%+ book, there will always be punters on the exchanges, and not to mention the layers who have nowhere else to go.

Exchanges are here to stay, but I'd imagine new models will develop to tap the demand for alternatives to existing models. Exchanges are brilliant.

I wonder whether Betfair will now treat its trading customers with more respect?

Oh Hell, I'm turning Blue holding my breath.......

On 2 February, Betfair and Paddy Power merged to create Paddy Power Betfair plc.

We have updated our Privacy Policy so when we say “group” we mean both companies.

By continuing to use Betfair you are deemed to accept the new Privacy Policy.

Anyone noticed any "important" changes to their policy?

Interesting to note that Paddy Power and Betfair Sportsbook still have prices independent of each other.

When BetFred acquired ToteSport, their prices immediately became aligned with each other

Will be interesting to see how integrated they become in future, but I guess the differences in the actual business models would make it more of a challenge. Right now Betfair have become a ABP but Paddypower haven't either

Customer support on Twitter says that the Sportsbook tab should be there, nothing has changed for Irish customers.
