Think you're being a bit harsh guys.

In my opinion this was always going to be their first move.

If they are going to push their sportsbook bets into the exchange then that will be a positive and the extra exposure should generate some interest from existing sportbook only customers.

After refreshing the 1st Nottingham market on Ladbrokes exchange (from NZ), the match amount bounces from the Betdaq amount to a different "Ladbrokes" amount.

eg. betdaq matched amount is 10,033. Ladbrokes matched amount reads 10,033 then bounces back to 8744 after javascript fully loads...

Launching their exchange so soon after their ants campaign was a bit of a worry - especially from a technology perspective, and also due to a pretty soft launch marketing wise.

Hopefully they actually do have some ants enhancing their technology further than just a white label for a release next year...

I am fairly new to this forum - anyone know if any Ladbrokes reps drop into this forum at all to get customer insights & feedback?

not really...

what happened to this? This is what they set out right at the start and looks like they have completely ignored it.

I would suggest Ladbrokes are just testing the waters at present

They have incredible presence on the High Street, but made a total bollocks of the online revolution, allowing themselves to be overhauled by the likes of Bet365

No doubt, they see an exchange as a way of finding new customers and invigorating a labouring business. However, they will be fearful of doing the same as BF, but in an opposite way - an exchange company who is detaching themselves from their core business to become a bookmaker.
Ladbrokes won't want the exchange to become bigger than their traditional sportsbook, so early doors they are bound to be cautious
I'm interested to see how Ladbrokes react to winning accounts though, as they are certain to attract some of the 60% PC payers

LeTiss - I just signed up through the Ladbrokes exchange site, and got a pretty big message after signing up that read "Ladbrokes has no premium charge" (should of taken a screenshot).

Could this mean the beginning of the end for the Betdaq exchange brand?

betdaq is just a front end for the exchange anyway which acually seperate from ladbrokes and betdaq so it doesn;t really matter if ladbrokes feed more into it than betdaq do. Read peters recent blog on it. The fact theres now 2 big consumer entry points into their exchange can only be a good thing for both as more liquidity will bring more customers to both. What really sets them back though for the traders especially is they are not on a level playing with betfair. They need to upgrade the exchange like they said they would.

2 things...

1, nottingham 12:30

betdaq volume matched - 5965
Ladbrokes volume matched - 18444

Are they displaying the volumes matched the same as betfair?? This will give a great comparison if they are. Smart move by the ladbrokes team if it turns out to be that way.

2, Commission....anyone confirm what they are charging on ladbrokes? Read on the betfair forum they are charging 5% on ladbrokes but 2% on betdaq? Bit of a head scratcher that one?? Not that I would complain with 5%

Don't know how the Ladbrokes's exchange matched volume is being displayed, but betdaq's is calculated by liability, what makes it difficult to compare with betfair's.

Amounts matched on the first at nottingham at the off were:

146k according to ladbrokes

270k on betfair.

If the amounts matched are now comparative thats not a huge amount out. Certainly a lot closer than what I previously thought it was. I thought betdaq was about a quarter of betfair.

Fill rate was much better on betdaq. I managed to turn over stakes several times more on betdaq than I was able to on betfair.

Also, On their site when you go to the exchange it brings up a splash page with information on the exchange. It says the exchange is running on push technology?? Thats new isn't it? Even betfair doesn;t run on that sort of technology. Thats what the newer financial exchanges are running on.

1pm at nottingham with turnover figures. Appreciate the previous race ran into this so volumes were slightly down.

Depends on the browser you're using whether you get to the old style ladbrokes page or the beta version with the exchange....
