Hi,

I'd like to try running BA on a VPS.

Which would be the best OS to use, Windows 7 Pro or Windows 10 Pro?

Thanks in advance.

A VPS will use a dedicated server edition of windows, the ones provided by BA run either;

Windows Server 2016
or
Windows Server 2008R2

Hi Dallas,

Thank you.

I read up on the BA VPS but for various reasons I won't presently be using BA's VPS.

Also as a newbie to setting up a VPS, even with Windows Server 2016 do I not still need to install a OS?

Regards,

Matt

Windows 2016 and 2008R2 are both operating systems,
Obviously, I cant answer for sure about VPS's provided by other companies but they should all come with an OS pre-installed

There is no noticeable difference between using it with Win 7 or Win 10 on a regular desktop but I've never used either OS on a VPS only dedicated server versions of windows

Hi Dallas,

Sorry, I misunderstood the setup of a VPS.

Win 7 etc. has nothing to do with it.

Regards,

Matt
