Exit a trade explanation

Hi all

I am fairly new to all of this and have what I imagine is a very newbie question.

When reading about Betfair trading I constantly see references to 'exiting a trade' etc during a game. So my question is what does that mean in practical terms - I am presuming we are not talking about cashing out.

Many thanks - that makes sense. I think what was confusing me was the term 'exit' which infers closing all bets so you have none remaining on a particular match.
