Hi All

I have been testing a few tennis automation ideas for a month or so and have fallen foul of the Devloper Team who have restricted my account.

The amount of backs and lays hitting the market wasnt huge but it clearly got their attention.

Are they reasonably amenable to removing restrictions?

I have responded to their email with an apology.

There's quite a lot about this issue on the forum Seti, if you have a search I'm sure you can find some advice.
Good luck.

Hi Seti,

Sorry to hear about this. I understand Betfair usually remove the restriction when you contact them and confirm that you will change your usage.

It might be helpful to other people on this forum if you could say how long you've been using practice mode and how many bets were being placed each day. We all know of Betfair's policy but they don't set out a limit or any criteria for when restrictions are considered.

Good luck with getting your account back.

Were you placing semi-regular (every other day) a quick 1 tick trade on a £2/5 stake etc?

I have been trying out an tennis idea since the begining of June. Looking at my files I have made 30 versions to get to the one I was using today. Looking at my notes the rule was placing about 40 bets a day all in.

If its the first such warning you have had they will usually ask you to answer some questions on how you intend to use the exchange going forward, just answer these honestly.

The main thing they are interested in is that they earn a revenue from your activity and that you're not just putting a strain on their servers while they make nothing from you.

When you reply to a post you need to put your reply after the "/quote" in square brackets, otherwise it appears your reply is said by the person you're replying to. :)
