I'm trying to place a dutch on the CS market and it usually works but 3 times the odds for AOD were 500 or 600 and I requested 900 and the software throws in a random £2 bet on AOD at 1000 even though the software says the stake would be 0.02 - what is happening?
I can't seem to post a screenshot
BTW - this is the Trader version
Dutch placing random £2 back on 1000

Betfair have a min bet size of £2 but BA uses a trick to let you place bets below that. Eg if you want to place a bet for £0.02 it places a £2 bet at 1000 (or 1.01) and then amends it to be the stake you want which is allowed by Betfair. But if the current back price is 1000 or lay price is 1.01 then that initial >min bet gets matched before it can be amended. This is also why sub £2 bets count as 2 transactions and why they're slower to place.

Thanks - so it's basically the odds going to 1000 from 500 before the amendment and there is nothing I can do to stop that?

I'm not sure what you can do, it's not something I've had an issue with..... Could you exclude these rank outsiders from your Dutch?DaveJessop wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 2:33 pmThanks - so it's basically the odds going to 1000 from 500 before the amendment and there is nothing I can do to stop that?

It doesn't matter what you use to calculate the bet, it's just a bet. LinusP is correct...as if that's ever in doubt
It would help to keep the transaction count down too.
