Why look at 12 months when it`s as easy to look back to 2008. If I do look it`s for items that have a steady year on year increase. Cutting the data in half means you do the job twice and you are still looking at historical data. I would then set up a pivot(s) and see how it performs going forward.

All the pivot daily results populate this so less work to do. Any that might be of interest get a a chart but tbh most gather dust.

Do it however you want if it's making you good money. All I'm doing is advocating the textbook approach because it works.

I`m just gathering data to help with the prediction project at the moment and not one for reading textbooks anyway. Following the well trodden path is not the road to riches.....

Get yourself some BF data then you can look at every combination possible. No guarantee that what`s happened in the past will happen again but it will give you an idea what might work where.

Off topic here, but I must say I love the pretty charts and pivot tables, spreadsheets people create! Coming from a financial background in the city (Investment banking and fund management) many moons ago I thought I could create nice looking charts but some of the stuff I have seen here is really nice!
My own spreadsheets are as ugly as sin but they work for me! I dont even bother to give stuff titles anymore becasue I know what they are!
I guess it goes back to your early days in school I had the worst handwriting in class but I did get really good grades!

Hi,
Sorry still cant work out how to post a new topic?
anyway i have a simple question for someone?
trying to automate a simple strategy to lay a certain saddlecloth, box, etc ?
I am An aussie so some of my questions may be different as i know europe go in order of favourtism.
Part of my strategy is to use a certain number In Automation?
For ex: is row index the same as Box 1 in greyhounds?
Does row 3 move if there is a scratching etc?
If i want to put for arguments sake only number 18 in my automation how do i achieve this?
Thanks for whoever answers?

Thanks for your help but my method is for Guardian Automation.
If i wanted to back all Number 4s i can use row 4.
But when there is a scratching of Number 2, Number 4 is now in row 3,and i am backing Number 5?
Any help

I f there is a scratch then guardian is not the best you would have to link to an excel spreadsheet at least that is how I do it!
