Swing trading and scalping

Can some one give me a simple explanation of the difference between Swing trading and scalping?
In Australia Betfair is fairly new to us and a lot of our markets don't appear to have the same liquidity that UK has.Sometimes I find it hard to trade until the last minute or 30 secs before the off.

Scalping is taking one tick, eg backing at 1.50 and laying at 1.49 (or vice versa).

Swing trades catch a bigger movement in the prices, eg backing at 1.50 and laying and 1.40 (or vice versa).
