On Tuesday, 4-year-old Bella Devyatkina from Moscow showed off her linguistic abilities. She speaks seven languages.

Gutuami,
what an astounding performance - she appears to have the same sort of "child prodigy" gifts with languages that Mozart had with music!! I have been studying Russian for about 3 years and I struggle - especially with ensuring that I get the case, the gender, the plural or singular and about 3,000 exceptions correct in the one sentence. Just to add to the confusion, Russian has a different grammar construction if you are going to somewhere or coming from somewhere - and whether you are going on foot or in a vehicle!!
I might be drawing a long bow here but does her name translate as "beautigul young girl"?
Anyway, it is inspiring to see such talent - although she does appear to be a little hyperactive.
cheers

There's an EDIT button
You can edit your own posts - means never having to say sorry - if you are fast enough
I'd like a button like that for my life problems (and so would Donald Trump) You can edit your own posts - means never having to say sorry - if you are fast enough

A mate thought he'd found the solution to sending a text message to the wrong person when he was told you can quickly switch your phone to Aeroplane Mode and delete the text before it goes. (Testing on this only reveals you'd have to be extraordinarily fast or in a poor phone coverage area). Now with one less girlfriend he is still looking for a solution. The obvious solution, monogamy, wasn't given much consideration.kerberus wrote: You can edit your own posts - means never having to say sorry - if you are fast enough
her name Bella is italian for nice or beautiful, and Devyatkinа has as root word Devyati which means nine.Galilee66 wrote:Gutuami,

russian is not so hard for europeans. Chinese and Arabian these are pretty hard. I had a girlfriend who was fluent in 4 languages. She said the hardest think was to separate the words. Like begin a sentence in a language and finish it in another.
