Not normally into sharing social media marketing from Paddy Power, but this is a classic: -

What makes gambling wrong but insurance right?

BBC.CO.UK
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38905963

"Legally and culturally, there is a clear distinction between gambling and insurance. Economically the difference is less visible.
Both gambler and insurer agree that money will change hands depending on what transpires in some unknowable future."

Off to the shops to buy a crystal ball.

This definitely come under Crazy Stuff -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-39664212

"The suspect had allegedly bought 15,000 put options on Borussia Dortmund shares - reportedly priced at €78,000 (£65,000; $83,600) -BETTING that they would drop sharply after the attack. He would have profited from this fall."

What next - snipers at Wimbledon? Sharks in the swimming pool? MOABs dropped on golf courses? Surprise General Elections before 2020?

I think he must have recently watched Casino Royale - where Le Chiffre tried to destroy the new prototype Sky Fleet, whilst making a killing betting against the market :D

Serious stuff though, it just shows what people will do for money. It also shows how easy it is to potentially make a fortune by doing something drastic that will affect the markets. The world is full of unhinged individuals

This is bizarre, but also 6.5 years for this? Seems a little harsh?
