OK here goes.
The Back bet first
Maybe will need a bit of advice about something later in post Prob SHR would know
The race is 5.40 Warwick
Horse is Jonagold
Therefore
C4 =GW(put in gw good watered as ggf good good to firm isnt getting picked up) dunno why. shouldnt matter
D4=war
E4= c
F4=2
G4=4

C2=ggf
D2=newt
E2=c
F2=2
G2=4
H2=216
I2=5
J2=27.5
K2=2

M2=108
Race 2 add 108yards

https://www.britishhorseracing.com/raci ... /2018/1260

Final part is the previous race
https://www.sportinglife.com/racing/res ... icap-chase
where it lost its irons 3 out
Im sure its time would have been much better if it didnt
Maybe SHR or someone could enlighten us

I think I remember reading somewhere top class horses do 9-12 seconds final furlong flat
12-15 lower grade
Jumps and last 3 or 4 furlongs and lost irons not sure what impact would be
Watched race but only seen the 1/2 furlong pole near end
Tried to work out the distance it went without irons

Personally I would always stay away from jump speed ratings and the reason why is because of the jumps. A lot of people on forums claim that because the distances are moved so much.

However although that doesn’t make it easy working out the exact distance.. it’s the simple fact of the jumping.

For example if you had identical races run... but in one race the pace setters are jumping poorly you will not get an accurate time.

It’s the same in dog racing. The reason why dogs record so much variation in their recent race times is because of the bumping.

If you have a dog who runs it’s fastest time.. but he bumped another dog coming out of the traps his race time would in fact be faster.

Hope that helps

If you can accurately predict the time bumping costs in greyhound or poor jumping in racing I’m all ears.

I was thinking more what difference do irons V no irons make roughly
say over 3 furlongs

A massive difference, impossible and not worth the bother of quantifying.
