Over the last few months I've noticed a flood of money taking all available cash over a 3 or 4 tick spread. It seems to happen fairly randomly but I am noticing it more frequently, especially when trading favourites.

For example, a market can appear fairly stable at 5.0 (back price) and 5.1 (lay price), then all of a sudden without warning (i.e. no previous volatility in price movement) the back price will drop to 4.5 or 4.6 followed by a spike on the money matched graph.

Has anybody else noticed this? If so are you able to see any trend in how the market responds after the flood of money? What strategy are you using to manage your positions? :o

The markets are much weaker at this time of year so when somebody needs to get filled on an order it can often wipe out a number of ticks. Can't say we have noticed anything different of late. Maybe the next time it happens you can post on this thread and we can have a look.
