Would be sensational if this turns out to be NOT a false dawn.

Had a feeling the Trump factor might change up things a bit.Emmson wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 3:23 pm" The Supreme Court has just ruled 7-2 to overturn the federal ban on sports gambling. It's a historic day in American sport."

An older article explains some of the hurdles still to overcome, but may be easier from now on.

The USA loves greyhound racing.
Lets hope for much more liquidity.

William Hill 312.00 up 10.4%
888 318.8 up 17.90%
Paddy Power/Betfair 79.75 up 10.2%
GVC 932.0 up 6.45%
Draft Kings etc in US will be interesting, and Racetracks profitability should increase, as they can cross-sell etc

Great news, hopefully in 12-24 months' time we'll have super liquid US racing markets, not to mention baseball!

And the NHL as well, which I feel could be good trading opportunities. Right now those markets are as as good as dead.northbound wrote: ↑Mon May 14, 2018 4:45 pmGreat news, hopefully in 12-24 months' time we'll have super liquid US racing markets, not to mention baseball!

Brian Windhorst seems to think the floodgates are now open, an excellent journalist he is and I hope he is right and all kinds of positive developments flow from this ruling.

With sports betting now legal, more individual states will change statutes to allow stuff.
It will be interesting to see how Betfair lobbies. On-line bookies will presumably be legal .. so, why should tracks not allow them to compete with
the poool betting ?
Obviously, they get 20% cut from pool .. but, am sure they could be incentivised.
I wonder how many bookies u will see in US // there will be a tremendous period of client acquisition .. with free offers etc
(( BTW, u may not have seen, but William Hills made an almighty rick on pricing the NFL draft .. and VSIN the sports radio, advised everyone to get on))
It went to arbitration .. but, Hills decided to pay, before getting too muddied .. its just not worth it etc, in the scheme of things.
Imagine all the free bets !!
Need to send son to university in USA, to get a few thousand beard accounts ..
ExchangeUSA cant be 2 yrs away .. Betfair will finally get some competition.
