Just noticed I'm responsible for about 9 of the last 12 posts to this thread, and the others are just replies.

i reguarly go to coffee shops neros especially most mornings. now i have been going there years and i like an extra hot latte with foam and a shot on the side ( not in the cup ) its took a while to get it right but if i go to another coffee shop and ask for it they say to my face ,your fussy arent you ( i like what i like we are all different ) .i hear it over and over again but its just what i like . now i was a hairdresser and i would usually do what the client wanted obviously if it suited them etc. i understand coffee shop workers arent paid well but just wish i wouldnt have to come back to them every time saying " if i was cutting your hair i would do what you wanted "now give me my fooking coffee haha.rant over

guess it's a double whammy for me then!!. I've had to give up coffee (which i love), so no more coffee shops. also, hair now so thin that my average (home) haircut leads to a bit of detective work when sweeping (i.e. trying to identify) the *trimmings* - lol

don't get me started on my (old) preference for my coffee being *strong but milky* :D

I have a similar thing with coffee - I must be able to put in the milk and sugar myself - only I know the exact colour the coffee should look (strong and NOT milky ;) ) and exactly how much sugar should be on the tip of the teaspoon.

You'd be surprised how offended people seem to get when I ask to do it myself. What's the point in offering me a coffee if you're going to be offended because I actually want to enjoy it?

People who sell it for a living really should understand better though.

It irritates me when somebody makes me a coffee, I ask for a strong one, and all I get is a medium strength cup with less milk!!!

If I wanted a dark coffee I would have said so!

Someone asked me recently in their kitchen if I'd like a tea or coffee.

"Mmmhhh, I just love coffee thanks"......(cupboard door opens and hand reaches for a jar of instant coffee)......"but today I think I'll have a tea thanks."

How can anyone call that stuff 'coffee''?

agreed - apart from the flavour, the ceremony of *buliding* a nice coffee with your Moka pot is (what used to) start the day off nicely!!

always a real bummer mind you when workmen turn up after you've made you *daily allowance* and they can smell it- do you offer an instant, or forego your hard earned labour!! :D

i am the same with hot chocolate it has to be stirred round with a bit of milk first ( my cafe friend showed me) and when i see people not doing it i almost blurt out, you need to stir that first :D
