Received this from Sky yesterday,

"In sport, fine details can make all the difference. So on 1 ‌October, we're replacing our standard definition Sky Sports channels with Sky Sports HD.

It also means your subscription will go up by £2 a month (rather than the £6 you'd pay for Sky Sports HD now). These changes will take place from 1 ‌October. You'll see your new price below and it will show in your October bill."

Disappointing, as it's going to increase the delay. This combined with the dawn of sports only available online is making it harder and harder to compete with courtsiders. I still use an AM radio for sports, (particularly football), but at some point they'll turn that signal off.

Also won't be good news for all the people using 'Gift' subscriptions as they can't get HD streams anymore.

Can't get sky sports on sky 28.2e via cardsharing anyway been like that for a few years apart from bt sports in SD, you still get ATR until January and Racing UK HD isn't behind the sky HD pairing encryption at all so those with £8 a year or whatever price they pay for 'gifts' still in clover for value. Virgin still going strong for now majority HD channels but swapping out boxes now which will eventually close the loop on cable
