Don't you feel conflicted all the time? eg. I'm doing footy and I can't do horses?

does that look conflicting to you
No!

Do you do lots of automation?

I trade what I trade because it's profitable, although am clearly a small time player.

Switch from raindrops to flies, imo.

There is a subtle difference in the way Memphis Flash's p&l is layed out when I compare it to mine. Look at the triangle after just for today, mine is filled in and his is not.
Different browsers render differently.

I’m collecting past data to backtest a strategy...

My first exchange bet was on golf curiously, then I focused on football as that was my specialist area.

However, the sheer volume of racing and the ability to dip in and out of it at will drew me into that sport.

So I could do a football match or nine races, so racing wins if that's the case.

As others have said it helps to enjoy the sport you're trading.

Racing, football, test cricket and golf majors for me any any event with good liquidity + price action (elections, eurovision etc.).

I couldn't trade tennis because I loathe watching it other than the odd big match at Wimbledon.

Dog fighting sounds interesting, what channel is it on? ;)

I trade anything where the numbers are moving. I've no particular interest in sport beyond following my footy team and watching F1. Being 99.5% automated I guess you could say my favourite sport is competitive data analysis ;)

Football - favourite sport to watch, so understand it a lot more, so good to trade
Tennis - don't watch it too much, enjoy trading it as good risk/reward
Racing - again don't watch it too much, I purely trade the numbers and reason I like it so much is the short time period, anything from 5 seconds to 5 mins and I'm done and on to next race

Personal I wil trade anything as long as there is enough liquidity to get out without losing my balls, ie cricket you won't lose to much as there is plenty of time to get out of a bad situation, with plenty of money on either side of the book, but USA horse racing if you take a trade and goes wrong you have to take an terrible price, or pointless trying to get to much money though an E liquid market

Horses - only! Reason, I can fit horse racing into my present lifestyle easily. Maybe once I spend more time trading, I will look at other sports, but the easy in/easy out, high liquidity aspect of BRITISH horse racing suits me at present. :-)

Anything, but horses!

I hate horse racing, I have ZERO interest in the sport. I think that's reflected in my inconsistent trading on horses over the years - it's difficult to suceed in anything in life, when you don't enjoy it

Really appreciate the replies here. I look at it every now and then when I consider trying to trade something which doesn't me, to remind myself that's it's fine to just say: that's not for me. And that there are lots of different ways to make it work.
