Account Closure (Betfair live market data)
You know I've been trading on Betfair for years and seem to have done everything arse backwards. Started off with too larger stakes before I was proficient enough and then went to smaller stakes to hone my technique. If only Betfair knew how much effort some people make in order to reach that trading nirvana.
Pre-off and HT Football markets are very easy to place bets with little to no risk by scratching as soon as the opening bet is matched, finding a market with low odds and put through even a £10-£50 bet if you do have to take a 1 tick loss it will only be for pennies, this will keep BF happy as your still generating them commission and it would take years or thousands of bets for you to lose £299 this way
Hi LinusP
Apologies in advance for what may appear like technical ignorance though to be honest it probably is Are you referring to the live tv pictures on Betfair? If you are I don't watch an excessive amount of matches. I generally monitor the scoring (I trade tennis only) on flash scores or a regular betting site. Or is streaming enabled something completely different in this respect?

Again it may appear like I'm incredibly thick. I probably am Would you explain that as if you were explaining it to a complete newbie (like step by step) but please limit any urges you have towards sarcasm
The following I've just placed a £50 back bet in an O/U4.5 market at half time (you don't need a gap in price it was just by chance no money was waiting when I opened the market)
It wasn't all matched here but you can see the options available in the image below, click the now £0.00 P/L figure to cancel the rest and place a lay bet of £34.19 (equal to what has been matched of my back bet) and that will scratch the position, but i'll have placed £68.38 of bets generating a few quid commission for BF.
Or I could have waited for the full £50 to be matched then do the same
Or I could instantly have taken a 1 tick loss of 32p
In either of the later thats £100 of bets placed, either way it's very low to no risk pre-off and at HT, a few of these a week will be more than enough to keep BF happy

So let me make sure I'm understanding this. You placed a back bet for £50 at 1.08 but only £34.19 was matched. Then you cancelled the remaining £15.81 which hadn't been matched.
You then placed a lay bet for £34.19 at 1.08 which resulted in no profit but no loss either.
However if there had been no money to lay at 1.08 you could have chosen to lay £34.19 at 1.09 which would have resulted in a 32p loss?

Streaming is a way of receiving data and reduces load on the betfair servers.Phoenix wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2019 11:55 amHi LinusP

Dallas I assume it is turned on by default?
Can it be turned on/off, on both Bet Angel and the Betfair website? Also if you want to view the live pictures the Betfair website provides I assume you have to have streaming switched on? And finally where do you switch it on/off?
The BF website doesn't support streaming, only the API. Streaming is only to retrieve market info like prices traded volume and has no effect on the live pics which are just viewed via the BF live video page
