Read this article today, quite interesting:

https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/other- ... -1.3921229

'For instance, Paddy Power advertises on the affiliate section of its website that “we’ll convert your players with compelling free bets & device-optimised landing pages, retain them with Money Back Specials, and you’ll receive 25% revenue share”.
So, in other words, if a customer clicks on a sign-up link on an affiliate’s website and then makes a nett loss of €100 and the affiliate was on a 30 per cent deal, then the affiliate would earn €30. They would then continue to earn indefinitely from the customer’s future losses.'

yes that's right Archangel, that's why just about all 'punter' sites of all types have links to bookmakers because they share in the punters' losses forever if they open an account through that link. That's the business model of Oddschecker, Bet Brain etc. And that's why the 'Bonus Bagging' websites are goldmines to their owners because all accounts are new accounts by definition.

I heard that some software providers tried to get revenue share deals with the exchanges. Whether they managed it I don't know.

The old saying 'if you aren't paying for the product you are the product' comes to mind.

Yep that's the wonders of affiliate marketing. You don't just get a cut of the person you refer, but also a smaller cut of anyone they refer, and then a smaller one still for the next level down.

I did a similar thing with poker sites back in the early 00's and made a modest amount. But once the whole link farm thing became professionalised and as the referral payouts couldn't be verified, then generating enough traffic became more hassle than it was worth.

I think Betfair has an Exchange Affiliate scheme based on the commission flow generated.

The most interesting line there is "lifetime revenue on referered players'..

That could be quite a revenue stream!
