Great quote from Gideon Haigh (journalist) on the ABC Outsiders programme in Australia this morning -I'm paraphrasing in the following:

"Wold Cup Cricket final, netball world cup, men's and women's Ashes, British Open, Grand Prix, Wimbledon, Ascot, Newmarket ... for all our hand wringing over the Americanisation of sport, a small island off the coast of Europe dominates our sporting influences."

Thank you our British brothers and sisters, spreading the fruits of the enlightenment is out of fashion in these Woke times. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
