GF has been ill these past few days and had to be sent home from work Tuesday night, been trying to get a test ever since but to no avail.

Got one at Hull's only site at 12pm today and t'was totally dead, we were the only car there and we were there a good 10 minutes!!

But we are running out of tests apparently, bullshit
According to Jacob Rees-Mogg, instead of complaining when you got home, you should have cracked open the beers and started celebrating the phenomenal success of the UK's Covid-19 testing facilities. :?
The closest site for about 500k people and 1 person there it's just laughable and to think we believe they're running out of cotton buds

According to Frank "private enterprise is incredibly effective at getting things done", maybe it's just a pity the Givernment continually award G4S all the large and lucrative contracts.

The state is so useless at outsourcing and procurement that private companies routinely run rings round them (and sadly taxpayers get terrible value). See IT and defence procurement disasters, PFI contracts and now COVID. Ultimately it's the fault of govt. and the clueless people they employ.

K, I see, so it's not the private company that's incompetent it's the government's fault for contracting them, much clearer now Frank, thanks for clearing that up.

My pleasure.

There is nothing stopping socialists forming co-operatives and bidding for govt contracts. But I guess that would be almost entrepreneurial - much easier to get employed by the state and moan about everything.

NHS worker's head stamped on five times by bus attacker

Police believe the altercation occurred over face masks and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Damned if you wear a mask and damned if you don't!

I agree with him, we are living in a criticise culture. When the Government does something the media go on a mission to find someone to criticise it. I can understand their motive, agreement is less newsworthy than criticism but it does give a distorted picture.

I agree he doesn't deserve criticism - he deserves a smack! People with appointments have driven 150 miles only to find nobody has turned up, bothered to contact them to say the appointment was cancelled or even made a public announcement. It's basic courtesy to contact appointees if you can't make an appointment even if they're not driving 150 miles!

That is of course totally unacceptable but was JRM to blame? No. If you want to smack someone go smack the person who didn't turn up or would you have it JRM's responsibility to go around the whole country every morning and make sure everybody is doing and managers are managing everything 100%? The 100% infallible system has not yet been invented especially for new ventures.

I wasn't blaming JRM for the problem but his sheer arrogance, indifference and insensitivity, suggesting somebody who's wasted a day and a 300-mile round trip should "celebrate" the UK's testing facilities, although he wasn't actually talking to them.

BJ admitted we were caught napping and totally unprepared for Covid-19. I think he's forgotten that he was at the helm at the time. :?

Bog roll manufacturers say sales have gone up 60% in the last week but they still have capacity to keep producing. Nevertheless, I'm getting a pack of 4 tomorrow to be safe. :)
