Why wouldn't you turn streaming on?

Hello there,

Just reading this sticky;

I was just wondering why betangel doesnt have streaming turned on by default? Is there a reason you wouldn't turn it on?

I don't have a need for super fast refreshes at the moment, so I haven't turned it on, but just really wondered why its not just a default and why we even need an option for it?

Streaming sometimes has problems at Betfair's end causing bet placement delays. In such circumstances you need to switch back to polling.

Ahh ic, thanks Derek. That would explain the need for the option.

One would think streaming would require less resources on betfair's behalf....I'm sure its very complicated, but you'd think itd be worth their time to make it work 100% of the time.
