I was the chairman of a Housing Assoc. responsible for 7000 houses. Nothing to do with the IT world. It would not be the end if the computers went down for a few hours and no real loss. However, all the computer system were backed by an off site server, the system was checked once a month. I have no idea how it worked but was informed as the chairman on results on every test. It was considered that important. Its hard to see why a company who's sole job is to run a computer does not have a full back up system.
