Now there is a scalable market, no piddly £400k at some all weather meeting! Unfortunately Forex trading is a very tough market.

Tough, but not 'impossible'Bet Angel wrote:Unfortunately Forex trading is a very tough market.
I may be wrong but I think the currency markets was where some of the Coolmore guys made their initial money.
Financials are something I want to look at more going forward.

I've made the majority of my money from financial markets by investing rather than trading.
I think good old fashioned investing is a great way to end a decent scalable income. Each month when the dividend payments come through its a great feeling. You also benefit from the fact that you don't need to sit at your screen all day and worry about positions. I found short term spread betting on Betfair far easier than on financials, but that's not say everybody will be the same.

I get the impression that Forex trading is simple but not easy. The technical side of exploiting the market's many bubbles isn't massively complicated, but ensuring you don't succumb to your own emotional weaknesses isn't so straightforward!
BTW, the advantage Betfair traders have over Forex traders is that traders in the financial markets are unable to view how much money there is on either side of the spread.

I trade forex from about 10 years .When I discover Betfair trading it make me think how people make big money on this market -when I asked them about forex most of them answered they don't trade on forex.
But I still wonder -there is so many teachers who predict they know everything about trading .
Why they do not trade forex ?
Peter ,this is not about you I have huge respect to you -but you know this market (teaching sport trading)-do you know the answer?
And from another side -why ie Adam Heathcote is so successful on horses and is not making millions or billions on forex ?

In fact forex is not easy, It need many years of experience to be an expert on the forex and finance market, don't think that you will be a profitable trader just buy sitting few hours in front of the chart.
