bet a horse when its comes in to evens
hi still new to this and trying different automations could someone please tell me if a horse was @ 4.00 could i set a automation to kick in when it comes into 2.00 inplay as it looks like its going to win? because when i am doing this it just backs it straight away @ 4.00
Yes you can use automation to trigger a bet as a price shortens, the following file does this and will just need the odds amending to your requirements

It could but it would far easier to use this one and just change the odds from 3.0 to 2.0

Try Dallas' suggestion but in principle yes. Just change the number of times the rule can be triggered and add a condition that checks the number of matched bets on the selection is 0 and that the number of unmatched bets is also zero to prevent multiple bets on a selection. Do remember tho that if you trigger your bet at 2, the best available price is likely to be less than 2 so you might want to place your bet at a lower price.

That's a good thing isn't it? The price will have touched 2 and by the time the bet reaches the exchange its drifted to the prices you're seeing. BF will always give you the best available price. Inplay prices move rapidly. The other day one got short, bounced to 560 and then won, would you have wanted 2.0?

BA automation is solid as a rock, it either works consistently or it doesn't. Remember that prices can be available for milliseconds and it's doubtful you would see every movement. You could try recording the ladder at max refresh rate and replay it frame by frame or look to see if anything was matched at your target price on BF (although orders may have appeared causing your trigger even though they weren't matched.)
Are you placing your bet far below 2? The problem people usually have is getting matched near the price you want but you haven't mentioned that. Every 3.something you hit is usually balanced by having to settle for a 1.something. I ran some tests once trying to get 2.0 after it had been touched and I think I averaged about 1.92.
