I swear everytime I try and take SP on auto. it just never works

Says will cancel at the off when the bet was placed 1 minute from jump time

Any reasons why it wouldn't work?

I have problems too. I just had a race where I had two runners, was hoping to get prices matched and had all bets set to Take SP. At the off, one horse took SP and the other didnt. Scrambled to cover in play but never quite got the price and lost about $20. It's not common but not rare either. What could cause this ... why would one be taken and not the other???

I use take SP on my Aussie stuff as a safety net. It really low liquidity markets there may not be enough money there to resolve the SP. I had it running overnight on all the Saturday racing and it seems fine. Some markets don't support it.

Understood and that makes sense, but these were prime Saturday races at major metropolitan races.

To rule out the obvious, is the remaining unmatched portion of any partially matched bet under the minimum requirement for taking SP?

Yes. In the example where I was laying two runners and one was accepted and the other wasn't, both were stakes around $40.

That is OK then because the liability was over the minimum. I was thinking of a situation were you'd staked say 50 and 49 of it was matched I wasn't sure what happened to the unmatched part.

Question to anyone that knows, in that situation.... Is the unmatched £1 SPed because it was part of a larger order or canceled because it's under the minimum?

The BSP limits are by liability not stakes, you'd have to look up the limits for your country as you've quoted on dollars but the UK limits are £2 backing and liabilities of £10 when laying. The AUS limit laying is around 30 dollars I think

The limits apply to unmatched bets Shaun so an unmatched lay liability of £9 won't go into the bsp pool even if it was part of a larger bet.

If you think you hit the limits just email the bet id from your betting history, probably under lapsed and ask them. They're usually very quick if you get thru to the bdp team.

Cheers sb. It's not something that affects what I do but I like to know these things. I'd never heard of that being an issue before so it was a shot in the dark.

Where can I find a list of the persistence codes? Googling isnt helping much.

Probably easiest to use BF support and they'll tell you about regional restrictions.
