I can store a book% for a particular runner as well as adjust it using an automation file. I can use this to trigger a bet if I wish if the current book% hits my adjusted value - but can I have a bet waiting at the appropriate price? Ie can I convert a book% into its equivelent tick price in automation?

Yes you can do all the calculations you need within Stored values, so you would have 3 SV's in your list

Create a stored value with the entered amount 100 (named 'A')
Create a stored value with the book% (named 'B')
Create a stored value named 'C' with another Stored Value 'A' divided by Another stored Value 'B' Rounded to the nearest Valid Price

Then have a bet 'Place at' the stored value named 'C'

How do you get a "divided by" option please ? If I put "A/B" in the "Other value name field" I get a weird result eg
10/1/2018 21:35:05: [G_Auto] : Store Value: A = 100
10/1/2018 21:35:05: [G_Auto] : Store Value: B = 62.893
10/1/2018 21:35:05: [G_Auto] : Store Value: C = 0 = 1.01

& I don't see a divided by option in the adjustment field either ?

Sorry for perhaps being a bit slow here ! All advice welcomed.

You can reverse the previous process

sure, the basics of book% are:

To get book% from odds
100/odds = book%
example: 100/2.5 odds = 40%

To get odds from book%
100/book% = odds
example: 100/40 = 2.5 odds

this may or may not align to how your stored values are setup...

[edit] aplogies, i misread your response as CAN you reverse the process (rathen than you CAN)... anyway, will leave response as it addresses exactly what you mention :D

Thanks All.

I understand the converting bit now., I'm just keen to understand if there is any clever way to pull / store a selection's BSP book % if BSP is not a selectable pull down stored value.

Puntingprofit, apologies, yes I get that SP not available to store, so not available to convert to book%.

I'm not sure why book% (or implied probability) is generally so overlooked in the software - much of what does exist are fairly recent additions. Even Betfair give us an implied probability chart.

i hold my hand up and can say that i had pushed for book% in BA for quite some time - really happy it's now there. i just find it a very nice common currency where you can even factor lots of other key data elements out to 100% and thus compare/combine non related items in a more meaningful way (think vwap/volume % etc, etc).
