how do you know when the final 20 seconds of a race will be?
Do you have a crystal ball?
Do you have a crystal ball?
Hi Jim,
The automation itself is working fine, but today had 3 times loss the back stack of £15, its because right at the last minute the 2nd favourite just gets in front and wins, which is annoying. I dont know how to tighten the automation up so this doesnt happen!!!
Yes, tricky. I should have put a green up rule in I know but havnt. If I do put a 'green all' condition in. Do I have to do it on each rule I have (i.e 5f,6F,1m,1.1M etc..)?
In the 'green all' condition, thats where I have to be careful, Less than -£7.50, which is half the stack. But the price can then fluctuate and I would have more green out's at -£7.50 which will get annoying.
Its so annoying, its beautiful when it happens, lts greens of £1.50 upwards, making a nice little pot, then boom £15.00 Red pops in.........
Cheers bud

why dont you think about changing the strategy so instead of getting the £1.5 wins you get the £15 wins? Analyse what causes it and can it be replicated. If it can then receate you bot to do the reverse of what it is doing now.

I like your thinking and my profit. I am probably an amateur compared to you buddy. Just managing to get my head round this one first then maybe try and figure it out! Pretty chuffed (in my mind) and have a near 85% working automation.

no point in having an 85% working bot when one result wipes out all profit.

bit of advice. no bot is ever 100%. losses occur.
one other small data point that might be useful to look at is to flag up whether the main runner is ever challenged for the top spot. if this happens (i.e. the 2nd fave comes in but then drifts out again), then you may want to ignore that race. you can measure this by setting a signal to track the runners and only back the fave it it has never been challenged in its lead. i will say tho that this alone will probably not be enough to take your profits up the the required level. beyond this, you could look at the other mechanical factors involved in the final stages of the race, such as the book% spinning out as the other runner odds all adjust at the close. you could also think about this rule as a lay based rule and lay 2-3 runnersthat have never been in contention but are still within decent odds (i.e <8-12 odds).
just another way to view this...
Just to add on to what Jimibt has just said, below are a few bots from the shared files section which should give you some further ideas on how to implement these suggestions
