Assuming your actually placing bets in live mode otherwise your account will get restricted at some point.
I don't know why I never thought of mentioning it before, but arbing is a pretty safe way of making money (if done carefully) without any risk, and it does result in winning and losing on Betfair, probably losing more than you win, generating the much required commission that will allow you keep using practice mode.
I don't think anyone really knows because Betfair, whilst they must have some sort of criteria to pick out practice mode users they don't publicise the limits they're willing to accept.

I'm told it's an automated system that responds to 3 days(ish?) of inactivity. For obvious reasons they won't reveal any more details, otherwise it would be easy for the unscrupulous to exploit it. Even tiny trades a couple of times a day appear to fool it, but an automated penny trade at spot on noon everyday might not. The amount of time you spend logged on might be in the equation too, with long spells with no bets being worse than an hour a day just having a look around.
Quite serious limitations and yes, it does affect, or stop you from using live mode.

It’s probably a combination of:
- how long have you had your account
- how many live trades you make in a 7 day period
- how long your logged into your account
- is your account funded
- do you generate any commission
Personally, I wouldn’t take the risk.
