Hi Guys,

Got my automation running well. However I keep having a little problem where it greens at a negative. It’s supposed to green when profit is Greater than 0.50 ie 50p I’ve tried 00.50, however it seems to green at a negative sometimes, ie instead of greening at 90p it will flip to -90p

Any idea why?

Cheers, Tom

You would just use

Greater than
and enter 0.50

How many triggers and what re-arm time are you using?
Are you trading in-play or pre-off?

Hi Dallas,

Thanks for your response. I’ve got a mixture. It lays and backs before the off and greens both before and in play. It triggers up to 5 times(greening) with a 5 sec delay I think. Not sure about re-arm. Could that be the problem if it isn’t set?

Cheers, Tom

If its 5 secs that shouldn't be a problem, I was just checking you weren't using in-play and re-arming faster than the in-play bet delay and submitting multiple green up bets

Do you have multiple green up rules in your file?
If so they could be clashing and both triggering together (therefore greening up then undoing it).

Nope, only got the one green-up rule. It works perfectly apart from the odd occasion where it greens at a negative. As if the negative triggers it. Happens maybe 1 in 20 or so.

Thinking about what you've said. I am running multiple automation files on different instances of BetAngel. I'm trying to see which strat will have the least chance of error and loss. I'm a student so don't want to be taking many hits. Could that be contributing? Multiple automation files, all with their own greenup rules.

Yes that would effect it, if the automation rules are running on the same markets (even if on different instances of Bet Angel), if one greens up you'll see it green up on all, as with any activity you do on one you'll see it in all instances as they are all looking at the same account.

You could even go on to the Betfair website and cash out and you'll see your positions green up in BF

I've stopped all other instances of Betangel, got one running now. It's just completed the race. The Greenup should only trigger at a positive.

That's the log, and the end odds were £27.02 on the fav and -9.27 on all other horses. It shouldn't have greened. Or should it??

At the time the rule triggered you will of had a green up profit of around 0.73p
So if your condition was set to green all Greater than 0.50 then yes that has greened up correctly - as it was more than 50p at the time

Thanks Dallas, I really appreciate your input and help.

Have you any idea why it goes to a 'loss' from 73p then? Just trying to eliminate as much risk.

Again, thank you! :D

As that horse lost and the bet was matched you won 0.73p

Only if it wasn't matched ie, the odds suddenly turned and it steamed in leaving your back bet unmatched at 3.0 and the horse won you'd lose you full bet of £17.80
