I think this was the sleep app shown;

https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... roid.sleep

- free to try then only a few quid so might as well give it a try

Being a fan of gadgets and a poor sleeper myself, I bought a precursor to those sleep apps a few years ago;

http://www.axbo.com/pages/home

- like the apps it monitors your sleep patterns & wakes you up at the "optimal" time, you can also upload the data to a PC for later analysis (software not as sophisticated as the new apps though).

Didn't really help me that much TBH, but other people swear by it

This book was very helpful though, full of effective suggestions;

Cheers for the link, gave it a go last night. Don't think given the stats it was a particularly good sleep but did feel this morning as though I slept better than normal. It will be interesting as the data builds up to compare. Going to also keep some notes about how the night felt.

Anyone else try it?

I think from a trading view point it would be interesting to compare sleep against performance in the markets. Anyone up for doing that project?

This seems to be a popular choice for Apple, doesn't seem to be an iPad version just iPhone:

I wear a fitbit device and you can take that to bed at night and that monitors sleep pretty well. If you move it can register how much you move.

I thought I was a terrible sleeper but fitbit proved otherwise.

Bought this a couple of months ago:

Does a nice job of tracking the various phases of your sleep, and gives advice (usually in the form of don't drink too much coffee/alcohol etc).

(In all honesty, I have used it only 10 times)

I use the Sleep Cycle app for IOS. Just a basic screen-downwards before you sleep thing, has gradual wake-up alarms though which is nicer than the shit-yourself awake iPhone alarms!
The 7.30 wake up was when someone was getting into the shower, I don't even remember waking :lol:

I believe sleep is overlooked by a lot of people but it is the most important part of life. I think there would be strong correlation between good sleep and good performance in the markets

i recall either reading or watching a video that did say after some research that traders functioning on less than 4 hours sleep where practically trading drunk.

Hi Wobbler

I haven't seen that but I would agree with that statement. My own research has shown how it leads to a poor hormonal cycle with cortisol levels wreaking havoc.
