Thinking of finally updating my OS from Vista and wondered whether to go for 7 or straight to windows 8?
I'd naturally get the most up to date one but a couple of people have have said to avoid 8 and go for 7.
Just wondered what others thought?
Windows 7 or 8?
I hated windows 8 at first. It couldn't seem to decide whether it wanted to be a phone or a PC and it felt like the two things were getting in each others way.
Totally changed my mind now. The free upgrade from 8 to 8.1 sorted out some teething problems and an app (I'd prefer they called it a program but there we are) called classic shell made all the right bits behave like windows 7 but kept all of the improvements that came with 8.
I am a moody bastard by nature but I really like my new laptop and that is pretty rare.

Hi All,
I hope that someone here knows the answer to what may seem a pretty stupid question..
My back up laptop has Windows 7 home premium on it..
Is there any way of disabling the the incredibly annoying and distracting shadow copy of the task bar that occurs when the mouse pointer passes over?
this happens on the ladder and is so distracting..
any help would be appreciated
thanks Groovyelms
