Nice one, really liking the spread idea :)
Sounds a bit cliche but the sheer number of possibilities with it are huge and that's only going to increase as new options get added later down the line.

There will come a time when a lot of people look back and wonder how they managed doing everything themselves and a mouse click only being able to place a single fixed bet at that moment we feel archaic!

so if you’re crap at automation (like me) you’ve no chance, thanks a bundle
You always get the doubter's :( , trading is about the EDGE and this gives us (BA users) the edge over other systems out there.

Great work Peter :D , looking forward to cutting my teeth on this.

Hi everybody,

I have a couple of automations for IR. I'd like to know if it would be possible to assign one of them from the ladder interface on nominated runners. Could a mouse buttons (or keyboard) be programmed to that effect.

E.g: I'm looking at a runner of the ladder and think it would be fit for rule x. Can I activate the rule for that particular runner by a simple click?

Thanks!
I posted this on February 16th.
I got an answer today!
Cheers!

Korratt buddy.

I don't understand your frustration.

You dont have to use it at all. I am the same with automation but at the end of the day its a tool.

Trading is trading.

I think its a great idea... will I use it? probably not?

Why? I am happy doing what I am doing but for some its an amazing tool.

However its there. Its something we may all need. If you have a light bulb moment.. the resources are there ready for you..

Two important factors I have learned from trading.

You have to accept and get used to the new ways. You HAVE TOO to succeed.
Stay open minded.

Great that betangel keep striving to improve their software and I am grateful.

I'm very excited about the new feature.

Re the Safety Servant feature, is there a way that you can potentially set it up so that each time you enter a trade, the servant puts a closing bet on the other side of the book and then selects "Take SP"

I currently have to enter this manually each time I enter a trade so to do that via a servant would be brilliant.

More importantly, best of luck to Peter at the Matchbook conference tomorrow - hope your talk goes well.

Yes that can be done, ill add something along these lines tomorrow ahead of the days racing
but all you need is to have your bet offset (without greening) via global settings then give a safety servant a 'take SP' rule that it triggers if there are unmatched bets

Yes it could, but there would actually be a few ways to do it, so you'd have to decide which is best for you. You could just use offset bets attached to the opening bets to create your closing positions and just have the Safety Servant constantly mark them as Take SP. Or you could have the safety servant cancel all bets at a certain time, place closing bets using net stake and then mark them as Take SP. Or it could just green all at a certain time.

In case it went unnoticed, Automation can now be staked with a Net Stake amount https://www.betangel.com/user-guide/sta ... ters_.html to make such exits easier. You just have to use conditions in the rules to decide whether it's a back bet or a lay bet that required to close.

One other feature that is useful for a Safety Servant is the ability to stop all other servants that might be currently active in the market. Bottom of this page

Just noticed Dallas has replied while I've been writing this, but I'll post anyway because of the alternative options.

There is a load of new bits in the automation area to explore as well, so check them out.

That would be very very useful. Perfect job for a servant ;)

This looks really interesting, it’s going to be a long night.
Can we get hotkeys or there rules added into automation?
I have a hotkey that sorts and centres the market. It would be really handy if i could automate it. Getting my servant to sort the market for me would be a nice bonus.
I know something that has been asked for over the years is a way to automatically centre the ladders and this would do it.

Could you make a way to use short cuts default to the left click other than having to press the keyboard? The spreading the money on the ladder video has got me thinking that might me a better default option.

Have these been compiled into a list somewhere, I've missed? Or will they be?

Would hate to miss out on something, now you guys have put all that work into a new version ;)
