This is probably a stupid question but here goes anyway.

Can somebody explain to me the difference between book % of a selection & vol% of a selection?
The vol% of a selection I get as I can see it on the ladder but I don't really uderstand the book% of a selection, probably because I dont see a visual representation of it anywhere.

The book% of a selection is another way of saying implied probability (IP%)
ie, if it was priced at 2.50 its book % or implied probability would be 40% so it has a 40% chance of winning

All the selections IP% also make up the market book %

Ah ok thanks Dallas.

And last question can stored values be used to track changes in book % over regular time intervals?

Yes you can test to see if its changed or store a new value after anytime

Looks like a lot of good work has gone into
these updates. Much appriciated.

One update I've been pushing for is the ability to freeze the list of horses in a specific order, ie...price...in the Excel File. Once connected the odds will change throughout the day messing up the order of my excel file. Non runners will alter the order as well. This corrupts all the data I have stored. I'd like it if the order was "freezable". I know this is slightly possible as it can be done via Automation when an Excel file is connected via the One Click Screen instead of Guardian.

Once the odds increase or decrease in my excel file my data is wrecked. I've tried to get it to swap back using Macros but it's a difficult ask as there are so my loops to integrate.

If we could freeze the order I'd be Very Happy.

:) I have waited a long time to be able to track volume% in automation & have probably got more focused on the process/technology but like everything, the "rub" will be in the detail -as in how you apply it.Put it down to geek excitement :ugeek: :ugeek: :D

Its definitely interesting to me also, maybe setting up a sound alert when the vol% on a runner changes.

And remember 'The Geek shall inherit the Earth'! :D

(2) Is it possible to set the Stored Values from excel? If not then I'd suggest it for a future release.

The application to Excel communications are very slow compared to normal Automation processing, so if this was to be implemented, it would be have to be fairly restricted (probably only sync values during a Guardian refresh of an Excel page).
Re potential updating of Stored Values from Excel in a future release. I appreciate that the Excel refresh cycle may be slower than the BAF Automation File processing cycle. I still think it would be a useful feature to be able to set Stored Values from Excel though because the logic that can be used to calculate and set Stored Values in BAF files is fairly restricted, while the logic that can be built into Excel and Excel VBA is pretty much unlimited.

So as an example it would be possible to use some complex logic within Excel to to calculate Back and Lay Entry/Exit price points for a selection. If those values could then be easily passed from Excel into Stored Values then a BAF automation file could apply simple logic to compare current price against the Stored Values and execute Back/Lay instructions. This would allow the complexity and flexibility of excel calculations to be combined with the speed of execution of BAF automation files (with the proviso that there may potentially be a slight lag in the setting of Stored Values from Excel).

Great work, Bet Angel team! I also do have one suggestion.

Currently, market log shows which entity a signal belongs to, for example:

15/05/2018 09:21:59: [G_Auto] : Automation Signal for market: MarketVolume = 1
15/05/2018 09:24:42: [G_Auto] : Automation Signal for 6. Montana Chief: Hit1.10 = 1

This doesn't happen for stored values:

15/05/2018 09:21:59: [G_Auto] : Store Value: MktVolume = 20446.45
15/05/2018 09:24:42: [G_Auto] : Store Value: Ltp = 3.45

Could you please make the software log the entity for stored values as well? For example:

15/05/2018 09:21:59: [G_Auto] : Store Value for market: MktVolume = 20446.45
15/05/2018 09:24:42: [G_Auto] : Store Value for 6. Montana Chief: Ltp = 3.45

That would be great, thanks.

Not noticed any problem here,

Your best posting to the Betfair down thread if you need to check if its API has any issues or if its a local problem

Switched to alternatives settings for Silks and still blank.
No biggie, just be nice to have them, really don't know why they don't show up

Thanks
