The clicking of Internet Explorer on refresh is a Sounds preference in Windows. Just change 'Start Navigation' and 'Complete Navigation' to (None) and it'll stay quiet.

The browser all versions of Bet Angel uses is Internet Explorer, so if you have problems browsing from the desktop in Bet Angel the first thing to check is if you can view the web page/s you're looking for using IE, if not then you may need to update or install the latest version of Internet Explorer.
Once you are able to browse using Internet Explorer then you should be able to do so through the Bet Angel desktop.
weirdly, i've never used (or considered using) the inbuilt browser control. not because of any aversion, just that i have everything on a VM purely dedicated to the processing of BA rules etc, so only ever check the forum on my laptop locally.. could be useful, i guess in rare instances (in my experience)

How come it doesn't use your default browser?Dallas wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 5:47 pmDallas wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 3:53 pmCan you browse it on the web using IE?MemphisFlash wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 3:49 pmboth. i'm answering this from a web browser not Bet AngelThe browser all versions of Bet Angel uses is Internet Explorer, so if you have problems browsing from the desktop in Bet Angel the first thing to check is if you can view the web page/s you're looking for using IE, if not then you may need to update or install the latest version of Internet Explorer.

.net (visual studio) uses a webrwser control that is based on the m$ stack - i.e. it's a thin veneer over the top of the IE internals...ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 8:27 pmHow come it doesn't use your default browser?Dallas wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 5:47 pmThe browser all versions of Bet Angel uses is Internet Explorer, so if you have problems browsing from the desktop in Bet Angel the first thing to check is if you can view the web page/s you're looking for using IE, if not then you may need to update or install the latest version of Internet Explorer.

The embedded browser control is just there for a bit of convenience to quickly check the forum etc. It’s a .NET control that just wraps Internet Explorer. We always encourage people to use external browsers for viewing third party web sites to keep Bet Angel running as efficiently as possible. Much better to let Windows manage the resources of the browser (allowing you to kill the task if necessary) than cramming it into Bet Angel’s memory allocation and borrowing its user interface thread.
I’d dread to think what an embedded Chrome browser would do - the normal desktop version is such a memory hog!

As Dallas asked, are you able to view betangel.com using Internet Explorer on the PC? (Not Microsoft Edge)
If you are running firewall software, then perhaps that hasn’t fully opened for the new build, so you could try turning the firewall off to see if it makes any difference.

Not true. Internet Explorer still comes as part of Windows 10. It’s just hidden/disabled.MemphisFlash wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 5:51 amthere is no such thing as internet explorer these days. it was replaced by Microsoft edge

You can switch it back on via Windows Programs.
whao - i mean whoa!! probably the LAST bit of code to be touched or changed would be the silly little webbrowser integration control that got popped in on a wet wednesday afternoon about 10 years ago...MemphisFlash wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2019 5:51 amthere is no such thing as internet explorer these days. it was replaced by Microsoft edge

That's right, that browser code hasn't been touched for ages. The .NET wrappers for controls like that will get regenerated as part of the build, so I guess it's possible to have a bad build, but you'd normally gets loads of people reporting the same issue.
We patched the build yesterday to fix that Lottery/Surfing exception that Dabbla found and the Automation condition description bug that BetScalper found. Both very minor so it's just gone in as a patch to the current version. We were just about to announce it yesterday when betfair had all those market tree issues, so we thought we'd wait a bit!
Anyway it's there to re-download if customers want to eliminate those bugs.
MemphisFlash - you could try downloading it too to see if the updated wrappers help your browser issue. If not, uninstall back to v1.51.2 to check that still works, test browsing with Internet Explorer (if you can convince Windows 10 to reveal it), and then try again with v1.52.0
