Heavily backed favourite losses at Lingers
Do things like this affect the following markets?
Punters having less money?

No, only punters who backed the loser will have less money and they won't have had their life savings on it!

Lively market at Punchestown today. First race completely bonkers - I put in a lay order on the second favourite at 4.2 and a back order of 4.8. Both were matched in a single second !

Little gold i think it was, from around 300 into below 2, sent several others out to 1000

One of the bigger ones I've seen. I just layed it at 25 afterwards. Surely incredible value considering it was several 100 to 1 before the fat finger. People just greening their winnings but on a horse with practically no chance. Really wish I'd lumped on my entire bank but always easy to say once the horse has lost.

I was only watching the market. Just watched the reply of the race, it was not very keen at all on starting so possibly

I was on the verge of bailing out for a loss on this one when the price started to drift.

Might be a neive question but why would a likely WD cause a horse to be so heavily backed.?

Is it that they know/pray the bets will be canceled and its designed to force the rest of the field out to mad prices so they can back them?
