Took a break from Lego building to trade this race. At the end of it, the Lego looked like the better option. The race seemed very weak and there wasn't much volume driving through it. In the last five minutes there was just £500k matched for a total of just over £1.1m

Min 4 - £72k
Min 3 - £32k
Min 2 - £99k
Min 1 - £127k
Min 0 - £175k

I expect more than this so I checked last year figures, £2.1m was traded. Seven runner starting at 3.15 & 3.05 vs 8 runner starting at 3.55 & 4.20 this year. So maybe slightly lower volume this year but not 50% off!!

I didn't trade yesterday because:

1. Lack of other quality meetings due to the weather and
2. Unless the cards are guaranteed great liquidity then I won't trade racing on a Sunday.
3. The children have some great toys this year so I'm helping them run them in

Also last year the DO Chase was on a Saturday as Boxing day was on the Friday.

I wonder , if like me, other people are beginning not to "do" the big races. Some of the moves in such races are so bizarre that they bear no resemblance to those suggested by even a cursory examination of form.
