Interesting at those odds (Ladbrokes) indeed. Can't find a BF market yet. Melbourne cup yes.. the richest turf race in the world..no :? . Maybe I don't understand Horse racing betting well enough or just that it's a new event :D

Aren't the same horses running in it that run in most G1 sprint races down there?

No horses are coming from overseas to contest it (to my knowledge) so without the big purse it's really nothing to get excited about imo.

Maybe because it is a new event, so the internationals haven't turned up..not sure(uneducated guess)....but 10 mil is not a big purse?

It's like the Pegasus it's never going to attract many overseas horses because it plays to the local strengths (USA with dirt and AUS with sprinters).

10m is a heck of a lot but what I'm saying is I wouldn't blink twice if I saw the same horses running for 500k.

It's just all for the TAB and the big owners/breeders.

I am not an experienced punter - seems a fair point though. The Melbourne cup attracts a lot over overseas interest so perhaps it will too over time. Either way, hopefully will provide a good trading day

Thought it was going to rain so stayed home to watch.

Don't forget four group 1s at Caulfield today plus the Everest.

Looking to see if I can have a very big day.
