Hopefully this will be the start of a series in using machine learning to model various aspects of the markets. There is lots of talk about ML but not much on how it can actually be used so hopefully you guys will find this interesting.

I am very much a beginner when it comes to ML so welcome any thoughts.

Thanks for posting this up Liam, ML is something that I've been meaning to get into for a long time. Hopefully this will give me a kick up the ass to actually do it.

Let me know how you get on, it’s powerful stuff just requires so much time when it comes to data collection / preparation.

Interesting article, thanks for posting. From where I am stood you seem more than a beginner at Machine Learning to me! Your initial results look excellent for the flat and very good for the jumps given the limited factors being used.
