He's already over there and comes out of quarantine today and heads to Gulfstream Park, Frankie Dettori is already out there, Jamie Osborne has been very bullish about the horses chances after he did a superb work out at Kempton Park .

Was some achievement just to get him there, and would be amazing if he could run a decent race. His run in the Breeders Cup Classic in 2014 where he was just touched off by Bayern and beat the mighty California Chrome was remarkable. Here's hoping he comes back safe and sound .

I'm looking forward to watching the race, but does the fact that it takes place in January suggest the race is surplus to requirement?

See below for further detail of the race format, it's only the second time it's been ran, and I'm not a great fan of the format,

Twelve of the best older horses on the planet will face off in the second Pegasus World Cup on Jan. 27, after their owners paid up to $1 million apiece to enter the starting gate of the richest horse race in the world. Those entry fees contribute to the race’s purse, and the day’s profits on betting, food and beverage, and ticket sales will be split among the entry owners in a unique race format.

The day also features seven other stakes races with total purses of $1,025,000, making for a can’t-miss day at the track. And to add to the excitement building up to the race, the 2017 Eclipse Awards recognizing the best in Thoroughbred racing will be announced at a ceremony at Gulfstream Park’s Sport of Kings Theater on Jan. 25.

Does anybody know if Betfair will have markets for this meeting?

I know they don't normally have markets for Gulfstream, but they don't normally have markets for Del Mar either, but covered last year's Breeder's Cup.

Think I will be having a go at trading it tonight. Gunnrunner is in a different league and cannot see why he is not at least a 1/3 shot.

It's well worth watching just for the build-up, as well as the supporting card. The Americans do T.V. build-ups that have you glued to the box - here they just put you to sleep!

Didn't make much at Gulfstream, the markets were barely moving.
