Here is what happened to the favourites at Cheltenham yesterday to £100 stakes from ten minutes out: -

Chelt - 13:30 - Lay to open @ 3.10 to 3.15 for 1 ticks & £1.59
Chelt - 14:10 - Lay to open @ 1.90 to 1.93 for 3 ticks & £1.55
Chelt - 14:50 - Lay to open @ 6.20 to 6.80 for 3 ticks & £8.82
Chelt - 15:30 - Lay to open @ 1.69 to 1.73 for 4 ticks & £2.31
Chelt - 16:10 - Back to open @ 1.62 to 1.51 for 11 ticks & £7.28
Chelt - 16:50 - Back to open @ 5.90 to 5.70 for 2 ticks & £3.51
Chelt - 17:30 - Lay to open @ 6.40 to 6.60 for 1 ticks & £3.03

12 ticks one way and 13 ticks the other way? Last 10mins looks pretty stable.

Similar price to Sprinter Sacre two years ago but without the same problems. If I was still betting I'd probably be tempted to have a small bet at that price.

75k lump on Samcro moved it 4 ticks .. 1.78 to 1.74 .. drifting now back to 1.77

ITV decided to kill their boredom between races by letting West Ham players commentate on past races. Wish it never left Channel 4.

And it taught me that a stop won't necessarily get filled even in a huge market, I only went to put the kettle on. Glad it didn't in the end because it all came back. I suppose it's another example of how experience takes time for the rarer events to be encountered.

Anything to draw the public into the sport is fine by me, let them have their entertainment. I know a few pensioners (daytime tv fans) who only have a bet on Cheltenham because they like the telly show. If it was all worthy it would be dull for all but the officianados.

Traded v. well on BD, been quite risky on BF so far imo.
