spotted this online were as you arb... ie back the 4th fav in the normal place market and lay the 4th fav in the 4th place market not sure if even worked would provide a good profit

i guess if it were to work, you'd need to factor in the commission costs as they are based on two markets and thus the profit on one would not be deducted from the loss on the other ahead of commission

not worth bothering with did first 3 races 1.lay part placed 2.both sides lost 3.place side placed one to scrap

If the horse finishes fourth both bets lose, surely wiping out all profits and more.

its not worth bothering with only time it can fail is if place market 3rd is unlpaced and 4th placed is placed ..cos that would be the complete arb wiped out

I'm glad you've given up the idea but it's not really arbing. Arbing involves having every possible outcome covered so this would have just been a long odds-on bet.
