If a horse is a late withdrawal just moments before off the horse doesn't get pulled out of the market until after the race, and reduction factors apply. However, I don't think reduction factors apply to bets place in-play - you get the price you take, so the non-runner (on which all bets will be voided) will distort the overround.

Does this mean BF turn off cross matching ?Derek27 wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 4:32 pmIf a horse is a late withdrawal just moments before off the horse doesn't get pulled out of the market until after the race, and reduction factors apply. my guess is that they use to, but now they keep it on. in reality only bf knowsBetScalper wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 4:34 pmDoes this mean BF turn off cross matching ?Derek27 wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 4:32 pmIf a horse is a late withdrawal just moments before off the horse doesn't get pulled out of the market until after the race, and reduction factors apply. I wouldn't have thought they'd have any need to switch of CM, it would still work. In the graphic you posted it looks like the value was in the back book and backing a selection could have been cross-matched with the lay book, although there was only £3 available on one.

Thanks.
Wondering if there is a way in automation to figure out if a runner has been withdrawn.
Presumably by checking its odds ?

Cross matching gets switched off once there's a non runner, as soon as that's removed from the market it gets turned back on again. If it's too late to remove it before the market goes inpaly then XM is also switched off for the in running market.gutuami wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 4:41 pmmy guess is that they use to, but now they keep it on. in reality only bf knowsBetScalper wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 4:34 pmDoes this mean BF turn off cross matching ?Derek27 wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 4:32 pm

Reduction factors don't apply to in play bets so you can imagine it's very easy to manipulate the percentages and betfair would get completely stuffed if they left it on in running

So, if this happens and the lay book% stays above 100spreadbetting wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 6:35 pmCross matching gets switched off once there's a non runner, as soon as that's removed from the market it gets turned back on again. in-running then you can just take free money by laying all runners ?

No, because your bets on the non runner will be voided. As long as you take the non runner out of the equation you can work out the back and lay books and bet accordingly to make a profit though.BetScalper wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 6:40 pm

In the example you gave you would have been better off backing the field. I don't know what reduction factor was applied but it's likely after removing the non-runner you would have had a back overround of under 100%.BetScalper wrote: ↑Sun May 27, 2018 6:40 pmSo, if this happens and the lay book% stays above 100

Racingpost said it was 20p in the £1, so 20%.
